Our Under 11, 13 & 17 teams all won their friendly matches 2-1 on Saturday in their first matches since the Christmas break
Charlton Under 13's 2 QPR 1

The Under 13's gave a fine team performance in an exciting end to end match that was won with the last kick of the match.

The Charlton defence stood firm as Rangers applied some early pressure. It was the Addicks that opened the scoring when from a Beth Smith corner Megan Maslak finished at the far post.

It was a sloppy mix up in the Charlton defence that presented Rangers with their equaliser.

As the match moved into the last minute it looked like honours would be shared until
a fine left wing cross from Beth Smith was turned into her own net by a Rangers defender to give Charlton victory.

In another entertaining match it was Lou Hembrough who gave Charlton the lead with a well placed shot. The Addicks increased their lead with a goal from Sophie Raymond.
However Rangers never gave up and after Rosie Nobbs in the Charlton goal made a superb save from a free-kick Rangers fired home the rebound to pull a goal back.

Little Thurrock Dynamos U18's 1 Charlton U17's 2
This was a good game to have after the Christmas break. Our U17's competed well in a competitive physical game against older opponents. We competed well for the whole 90 minutes, played some excellent football and it was satisfying to start the new year with a victory.
Our opening goal came on the half hour mark when Lorraine Embleton fired home from 12 yards into the roof of the net and the first half finished 0-1.
Megen Mansfield increased our lead early in the second halfwhen she snapped up a rebound after a good save from the Thurrock keeper.
Thurrock pulled a goal back midway through the second half with a long range free-kick but we held on for a deserved win.
