Charlton Athletic Women are delighted to announce Welsh midfielder Alice Griffiths will join the club for the 2019/20 season

Griffiths joins after a treble-winning season with Cardiff Met, who last season scooped the Welsh Premier Women’s League, FAW Women’s Cup and Welsh Premier Women’s Cup titles.

 

The 18-year-old Aberdare-born player began her career with AFC Llwydcoed, where she plied her trade for their junior boys’ side.

 

Speaking to the club Alice is excited to be  

 

“Charlton were very successful last season and Riteesh [Mishra] has given me the opportunity to show myself so I’ve been given a great opportunity and hopefully I can take it.” 

 

Manager Riteesh Mishra is pleased with his new signing.

 

“Alice has moved over here and I’m excited to work with her. She has a great attitude, really driven and has already pleased me in training. 

 

Alice Griffiths was called up to the Wales senior squad in 2017 and made her debut for the side in a 1–0 victory over Kazakhstan in a 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier. She doesn’t have long to wait for her first international camp of the season which begins on Friday. Good luck Alice
