Charlton midfielder Katie Chapman warms upWelcome to KITE the Charlton Athletic Women's and Girls' Football Development and Education Programme. In operation since 1996, Charlton Athletic women's football provides a clear pathway of development from grassroots football through to the national women's Premier League and full international status. A pyramid of participation for all levels of ability.

The last eight years have been extremely productive and Charlton Athletic is nationally renowned for its provision in the women's and girls' game. The programme's commitment to education has found expression in the development of Kick Into Training and Education (KITE), which delivers skills for health and fitness and skills for life, not just to footballers registered on our books but also to the general and wider community.

Flying under KITE the women's football education programme provides a range of courses for both men and women, boys and girls, older people and all sections of the population. KITE includes our women's football academy and centre of excellence programmes as well as our coach education programme, which operate in partnership with London Leisure College, Greenwich University and Canterbury High School, West Kent College and Greenwich Sports Development.

Women's and girls' football at Charlton Athletic is not only about results on the field of play. We have put in place a programme that develops players by way of a comprehensive performance pathway, and also develops coaches, managers, administrators and fitness professionals through a range of educational courses and workshops. In this exciting initiative KITE makes the clubs professional coaching and management team available to deliver courses to the local and wider community.

The following provides a range of enjoyable workshop and practical based courses and academic programmes of study designed to enhance skills and qualifications as well as confidence and an appreciation of the importance of sport in everyday life.

Our aim is to enables women's and girls' football at Charlton Athletic to play a part in the promotion and delivery of sports fitness training within the boroughs of Greenwich, Bexley and throughout Kent.
