Women's and Girls Physiotherapy Sevice
All centre of excellence training sessions and matches are covered by a physiotherapist with all the appropriate qualifications in the treatment of sports injuries and emergency aid.
The physiotherapy service is overseen by Michael Cole, who is employed as the men's reserve-team physiotherapist and is the conditioning and fitness manager for the Charlton women's team as well.
The aims of the physiotherapy service are:
- To provide advice and education to players, parents, and coaches on the prevention and treatment of injuries.
- To provide treatment for injuries that will optimise healing and accelerate a return to fitness.
- To refer players to medical specialists when appropriate.
Physiotherapy sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Players Welfare
We are keen to develop players with a strong and firm disciplined approach, which encourages self reliance and determination. However we understand that even the most emotionally strongest of players will need support from time to time. This is not a sign of weakness and we are happy to provide support in the following ways:
Lifestyle
Workshops are provided on healthy living, substance abuse, personal morality and the laws of the game.
Individual support.
The club provides a team of experts, including a counselling service, club doctor and educational support staff.
In conjunction with the overall fitness programme, players can also benefit from individual fitness programmes and advice.
Exit Routes
Those players gaining four GCSE's including English and maths are able to progress into the Charlton Athletic Women's Football Academy.
