1st 4 Sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football
The Level 1 or Junior Team Managers' Course (JTM) is ideal for people involved in football at grassroots level. It will help with basic organisation, control and ideas of a coaching session. In addition, the course hopes to affect the attitude of managers on the course and show them that greater emphasis needs to be placed on ENJOYMENT rather than WINNING and practice rather than play. The course is designed as progression to the FA Coaching Certificate Course and is intended for youth leaders and prospective youth leaders, colleges of further education students and CCPR CSLA students particularly aimed at those with little experience who intend to coach club teams aged seven to 16 years. Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
On completion of the course candidates should be able to promote and establish working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, coaches, parents and officials in the overall development of association football. Develop an appreciation and understanding of football. Achieve and awareness of related aspects regarding children's football including growth and development, overuse injuries, football fitness, the learning process, child protection and display competence in emergency aid.
